By using the command line application e-PDFCONVERTER you can easily convert the printable document to PDF file just by inputting some commands into MS-DOS interface. This article aims at showing you how to make the conversion from printable document to PDF and set different parameters for target file. The application to be introduced is e-PDF Document Converter.

At first, you need to download Document Converter to your computer and set it up on some location on your disk. Then please open MS-DOS interface for inputting the command line later. You can drag the executable file doc2pdf.exe which is the called program of the command line program and drop it into MS-DOS window to see the usage of the program.

Then you will see the usage window as illustrated in Figure 1.

The command line usage is like the following one:

doc2pdf [options] <-i Document Files> [-o Output]

To understand the command line better, please see the following several examples for converting printable document to PDF file.

  1. doc2pdf -i C:\input.doc -o C:\output.pdf
  2. doc2pdf -a "Author" –t “Title” –j “Subject” -i C:\input.dwg -o C:\output.pdf
  3. doc2pdf -i C:\*.doc -o C:\*.pdf

The first example is to convert DOC to PDF document without setting any parameters. The second example is to convert DWG to PDF document and set PDF description. The last example is to convert DOC to PDF documents in batch with the wildcard.

For example, we can convert Word to PDF document in batches. Please click Add File (s) button to open file picker window from which you can choose all Word documents that you want to convert and add them into the program. Or you can also directly drag the Word documents and drop them into the file list.

Then please click Setting button to set parameters for the conversion from printable document to PDF file. In the popup window like the one shown in Figure 2, please choose the output format as .pdf in Output format dropdown list from all the supported ones. If you want to view the the created PDF document after the conversion, please check the option View after conversion.

As you want to make batch conversion, please click the third tab Save PDF Mode to choose the output mode for batch documents. In Make PDF files mode group box, you can choose to combine documents into PDF file, Convert multiple documents to multiple PDF files or Convert multiple directories to multiple PDF files. In Save mode group box, please choose a mode according to your needs. In Destination group box, please choose an option that you need for saving target files.

If you have set done all the parameters, please click OK button. When you see the user interface of Document Converter again, please click Start button to save the target files and start the conversion from printable document to PDF.

Then please click Print button in Print window and then you can choose output location in Save in dropdown list, input file name in File name edit box and specify output format in Save as type dropdown list in popup Save as window, please see it in Figure 4.

After clicking on Save button, you will be able to create PDF document from Word file.
